I didn't get a chance to post on Lee's birthday but I did watch a movie to note it. "Raiders of Old California". I really like Lee's performance in this. Jim Davis is good too as is Marty Robbins. Not sure I liked Faron Young as an actor but he did have the look of a western hero. I still enjoy hearing Faron sing "Hello Walls" on YouTube. I've often wondered with Lee being into music, if he got to sing & play with Carl Smith, Faron Young & Marty Robbins when he did "Badge of Marshall Brennen" & "Raiders of Old California" back to back in 1956. Once I read they were shot at the same time!!! Guess it's possible as the crew & actors are almost the same in both.
Marty Robbins' "El Paso" is a great song & features some of the best acoustic guitar playing ever. Next time you hear it, be sure to pay attention to the guitar playing. Heck I'm sure Lee got a big kick out of hanging out with those singers even though they were country music.
