eBay Watch: 4x4 Autographed Polaroid

From time to time I will post interesting items that I see on eBay that would be of interest to a LVC fan. These are not endorsements of the sellers, just merely my observations of interesting or rare items.

This week there is a signed 4x4 polaroid of LVC signing autographs (which I assume happened at the same time as the photo was signed).  Cool unique piece.  A bit overpriced.

Item has a "Buy it Now" of $325.00

LVC Rawhide Contract

Below is the 1964 contract for an episode of "Rawhide" which LVC guest starred in.  The date of August 1964 would indicate this episode would have filmed shortly after Clint Eastwood returned from filming A Fistful of Dollars.  They would both famously collaborate the next year in For A Few Dollars More.

LVC's Favorite Movie

Often times people ask, which of LVC's films was his favorite?  There are many anecdotal responses, however below is a response to a fan letter, in LVC's own handwriting, that identifies his favorite as For a Few Dollars More.  The letter looks to be from around the mid-80's

eBay Watch: LVC Autographs

From time to time I will post interesting items that I see on eBay that would be of interest to a LVC fan. These are not endorsements of the sellers, just merely my observations of interesting or rare items.

There are a number of LVC autographs on eBay this week.

The Good

This is a really cool photo from Take a Hard Ride.  A shot I have not seen before.  Opening bid is $49.89.

Next, a classic Sabata shot.  A little pricey, but one bid could take this at $149.00

I have no idea what this photo from the late 1970's is about!

LVC eBay Flip!

I know I just made an eBay post, but I thought I would just go off on a little rant.

About a week ago this photo was on eBay-

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=270983486948&nma=true&rt=nc&si=5ymBujDBb%252FQOyWjqVcebOAKRv04%253D&sspagename=STRK%3AMEDWX%3AIT&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

It sold for $32.99.

Now look what I find on eBay today...  Look familiar?

Whoever bought it for $32.99, is now selling it for $200.00!!!  That's quite a markup!

I'm just bitter as I was the underbidder.  How awesome would it have been to put "AA" in front of the "RON" on the photo!

Rant over.

eBay Watch: LVC Commandos Autograph

From time to time I will post interesting items that I see on eBay that would be of interest to a LVC fan.  These are not endorsements of the sellers, just merely my observations of interesting or rare items.

Here is a neat LVC autograph on eBay ending on 5/3.  I don't think I have seen this photo before, but I am not aware of a lot of stuff from Commandos out there.

Signed publicity photograph, showing Lee Van Cleef in a film scene - Commandos, 7 x 9,25 inch, signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen "Claus - Good Luck - Lee Van Cleef", minor trimmed - else in excellent condition.

My First LVC Autograph

I had become a LVC fan in 1992 while in high school.  At the time there was not much LVC memorabilia out there, except for a few VHS tapes and laser discs, and of course there was no eBay or internet really yet to track things down.

One rainy winter afternoon I found myself at downtown Seattle's Pike Place Market, at one of my favorite comic shops; Golden Age Collectibles.  Bordering the ceiling of the entire store are signed 8x10s of various celebrities.  This was something I always checked out, although I had never bought an autograph in my life.  As I scanned the walls I spotted a signed 8x10 of my new hero, Lee Van Cleef!  It was priced at $25.  Of course I had to have it!  That was only the beginning...

Best $25 I ever spent.  20 years later I still have it!
