Coming to DVD in Germany on August 8. It is being advertised as the "uncut version", however these cuts only ever applied to the European market. It is likely the same as the US theatrical release. What is unknown is if this is a new transfer. Some sellers are saying it will be 16x9, while others are saying it will be open matte. As this is only a DVD release, and not blu-ray, I suspect we may be getting the US laserdisc transfer at best. If anyone gets this, let me know!

Hey, Aaron ----------------
ReplyDeleteFound info on the 2 versions Video Cult released Aug 8th, '26:
What seems to be the European Theatrical version (withOUT the UNCUT VERSION blood-spatter designation on the cover), according to Schnittberichte (Cut Comparisons, translated -- might be a useful place to ck, for future LVC dvds from Europe, eh?), is "80:31 min. (77:09 min. o.A.) PAL".

And the UNCUT VERSION is "83 min. PAL".

Both editions are listed @ 1,33:1 Aspect Ratio. Didn't dig any deeper to determine how many units VC is mfg in the Limited Edition (UNCUT VERSION).
There're 2 uploads of AR on GooToob [both under "ARMED RESPONSE" an' 1986 -- with or w/o parentheses around year] that are the IMDB-listed Original Length of 86m. (The Australian BetaMax print @ 99m runs about 83m, but with PAL vs NTSC Frames-Per-Minute differences [like the Video Cult LE], it's likely UnCut -- the 13m discrepancy here is due to copious Teaser Bumpers, before & after.)
Hope that helps!
Best,
DCG.
