Seeing photos of Lee with a cigarette always makes very sad. That contributed greatly to his early demise. I had read from a couple of different sources that the smoking was a constant concern for him, that he had the usual smokers cough, frequent bronchitis, etc., and that he just wasn't able to kick the habit, although he kept trying. He left us way too soon😢
Very true, Laynesp, but I'd go further... Smoking (cig, pipe & cigar -- he partook of them all) was THE Contributing Factor to LVC's death. Tobacco use is inextricably linked to the coronary artery disease that caused his massive Heart Attack on December 16th, 1989 and Throat Cancer is listed as the secondary cause of death on Lee's Death Certificate. Thanks to Aaron for the candid BARQUERO set pix! Best to all, DCG.
