This is part two of a look at the gold mines used for the first action sequence in El Condor. I was able to get many comparisons of the initial attack as it took place from the second level of the mine.
The following comparisons show Jaroo defending his mine (before he meets Luke).
Jaroo runs from his outlook spot
The bandits arrive to ascend the mines
The bandits think they have Jaroo below...
Jaroo shoots them from above
The bandits run for cover
I did not go into the actual mine, or up to the upper level which is where the remainder of the sequence takes place. Perhaps on my next trip!
Interestingly enough El Condor and Rodalquilar would meet again (quite literally), in 1972's spaghetti western A Reason to Live, A Reason to Die. The El Condor fortress itself (which in actuality is about an hour away in Tabernas) was superimposed onto the top of the Rodalquilar mining area.

El Condor fortress is placed very close to Jaroo's mine location
Also of note in Rodalquilar, a few miles down the road is the location where we meet James Coburn in Sergio Leone's Duck You Sucker!
