eBay Watch: Return of Sabata Japan Program

From time to time I will post interesting items that I see on eBay that would be of interest to a LVC fan.  These are not endorsements of the sellers, just merely my observations of interesting or rare items.

This is from the same seller as the Sabata program from last week.  A 24 page program for Return of Sabata.  Not in as good of condition as last week's, but interesting nonetheless.  "Buy it Now" is $24.99

  1. Lee expressed some worry about Sabata in one movie magazine that I read in 1970. He said he didn't know about how that film would be received by SW fans. Lee said it is a bit like a cartoon but hopefully it will be fun for the audience. I think it was. I remember thinking it was odd and strange they way it was made and the crazy characters and wild, over the top weapons but I really enjoyed the film and thought Lee was terrific in Sabata when I saw it on the big screen at a downtown theater in September of 1970.

The opening scene of Return of Sabata was also fantastic but after that, to me, it wasn't that good. I was a bit disappointed just as I was with Captain Apache a few months earlier which I had to go to a drive-inn to see first run.

The first Sabata is a fun film and a good one of Lee.

Lee said he turned down Indio Black and Yul Brenner ended up taking it and that when he saw it he didn't like it either and was glad he passed.

I always thought it was interesting that Brenner turned down The Magnificent Seven Ride as did George Kennedy and then Lee was asked and took it.
