The top posters were the ones on display at the theater in my hometown when I went to see this movie new. When I saw Warren Oates on screen I thought "well that is the hat Lee is wearing on the posters outside so somehow Lee ends up with that hat". But he never did!! Who was behind that mistake and why? Did they purposely make the switch with the hats because someone at United Artists thought Lee would look better in the poster with the hat Warren Oates wore? And it's the first U. S. production, shot in the states. that starred Lee Van Cleef. First billing!

ReplyDeleteThe U.S. poster simply took a still of Oats and laid in LVC's face. Solely, I'm sure, to have Lee more prominent.
