That picture is in my old press book...Thanks Aaron. That picture is in my old press book of Day of Anger. I don't think it was even in the film. You know I had never heard of Gemma. When the poster was placed in the local theater promoting the soon release of the film, Lee Van Cleef's name was in big red letters with a few other actors in small letters at the bottom. And Lee had starred (first billing) in Big Gundown & Death Rides A Horse. When the film began & Gemma's name was FIRST I was very surprised to say the least. I had to check it out & did some digging & found that in Italy & Spain Gemma had first billing in all ads & was a huge star in Italy. Also Day of Anger was one of the biggest box office hits in Italy in the 1967/68. It was then that I understood why Lee had second billing as he did in For A Few Dollars More. Day of Anger was actually made for European audiences & Italy & Spain in particular. National General bought the rights to show the film in the U. S. & just focused on Lee Van Cleef because here Gemma was not known to most people. BobOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18271946822465853875noreply@blogger.com
